Julia Damasco advises clients on investor remediation; enforcement and collective actions; and the taxation of settlements and judgments. The protected data necessary to her work has led her to uniquely understand the privacy and data security issues faced by her clients. She also serves as her firm’s Chief Privacy Officer.
Her contributions to her professional and personal community include her current service as a member of the California Lawyers, Taxation Section, Executive Committee; and her service as a board member of NAFER. She served on the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation board for 12 years. She served as a board member and officer of Queen’s Bench and has taught 100+ classes to attorneys about gender bias in the legal profession. She created and moderated the Tax Policy and Justice program for the 2020 California Lawyers Tax Policy Conference; and has authored articles for the Southern Poverty Law Center on tax issues in farm worker sexual harassment settlements
