We strive to provide you with the information and guidance needed to make the most of your organization.
Miller Kaplan performs financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations backed by more than 75 years of experience across multiple industries.
AUDITS
An audit provides the highest level of assurance that your financial statements are free of material misstatement. The objective of an audit is the expression of an opinion about whether the financial statements are fairly presented in conformity with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or another basis of accounting.
For each engagement, we tailor our audit procedures to your operations. An audit includes obtaining an understanding of the entity’s internal controls, and may include inquiry, observation, third-party confirmations, and inspection of documents underlying financial transactions. Many of our clients find that our audit services deliver additional value; we provide expert analyses and practical advice to help improve internal processes.
During the audit process, we:
- Obtain a thorough understanding of your organization
- Test documentary evidence supporting amounts and disclosures in financial statements
- Analyze your organization’s internal controls
- Communicate regularly
- Remain responsive to your needs and concerns
At the completion of an audit, we issue a report providing our opinion on whether your financial statements are presented in accordance with the designated basis of accounting. Should we identify significant deficiencies in controls over financial reporting, they will be communicated in writing, along with recommendations for improvement. Audited financial statements provide a valuable tool for strategic planning and for external communication with stakeholders and others.
REVIEWS
A review provides limited assurance that no material modifications are required for your financial statements to be presented in accordance with GAAP or another basis of accounting designated by management. Reviews consist primarily of management inquiries and analytical procedures. Our knowledge of your industry and organization ensure an efficient engagement.
COMPILATIONS
A compilation is the preparation of financial statements in accordance with the selected reporting framework and does not provide any assurance that they are free of material misstatement. Our accounting and reporting expertise transforms your data into reliable financial statements.
NONATTEST
Preparation services utilize our knowledge of your business to assemble financial statements for the benefit of management or other selected parties. We do not issue a report or provide any form of assurance in conjunction with a preparation engagement.
